The Rugby Community in the US is growing every day. Its not difficult to see that there is a lot of future growth potential across the country for both Rugby Union and Rugby League. One of the things that is hard to accept is where the US sits in the World rankings in both codes, considering the number of athletes and the availability of resources to grow and become better players, coaches and administrators etc.
How is the US classified as a tier 2 nation in Rugby and 38th in the World in Rugby League (01/01/2023)?
This is where we see a major disconnect in our industry and we shouldn't accept it any longer!
In 2019, BE US NOW LLC was formed to initially grow Women's Rugby League to play in parallel to the men's competition that was already in existence, albeit poorly developed and predominately isolated on the east coast of the US. So USA Women's Rugby League Inc was formed, and from there, officially launched the USA Redtails as the National Women's Rugby League Team.
With Rugby, we noticed that there were a lot of players missing opportunities for growth. Many players were wanting to grow and become representative players, but as you would suspect, when there are a lot of players, they can only take a certain number. So what happens to the other players not selected?
That is where CRDG comes in. We offer Rugby Union and Rugby League opportunities for all formats and in any tournament location. If there is a tournament being played, CRDG are interested in playing. But that's just the beginning.
Being located in Charlotte, North Carolina, our plan is to create a new Rugby Town of the US thanks to an ever developing list of talented players, a new US Performance Center development which is a purpose built training facility of IOC quality, a 10000 seat stadium at American Legion Memorial Stadium, and the potential to develop towards Professional Rugby Teams in the near future for Men & Women.
Our Rugby League team for both men and women is the Carolina Storm who will also be a part of all of our development plans.
This is all being initiated as a part of our 10 year plan to help prepare the US for the RWC 2031 and 2033 that will be hosted in America. Our goal is to assist in the development of the sport and grow the next line of National team players and by doing so, help to elevate the standard of the domestic game.
We have also been approached by International teams to be designated Academy sites for their teams as they continue to expand the game in a more professional manner in the US.
